Lovely to meet you — I’m Caroline, founder of Tottington-based interior design studio, Emerson Bailey Interiors.
My design journey began at the renowned Manchester School of Art, where I completed a BA (Hons) in Interior Design. I was drawn to the architectural side of design — exploring layouts, flow, and how thoughtful planning can completely transform a space.
After graduating in 2011, I spent several years working with high-end brands in the luxury residential sector. It was during this time that I developed a deep appreciation for the impact of carefully curated materials, finishes, and detail — how they can turn an ordinary space into something exceptional.
What I love most about interior design is its power to influence how we live and feel in our homes. Helping clients create spaces that feel both elevated and deeply personal is at the heart of everything I do.
Running my own design studio has afforded me the great pleasure of being involved at every stage of the process. Getting to know my clients on a deeply personal level allows us build trust and makes the journey of renovating enjoyable and stress free.
In 2024 I was proudly accredited as a BIID Registered Interior Designer®, I’m professionally accredited by the British Institute of Interior Design — which means you can trust in my experience, training, and commitment to the highest standards in the industry.
In 2025, I was shortlisted as a finalist in two categories of the Northern Design Awards for a recently completed project.
Moving forward into 2026, I have so much passion that creating beautiful homes for my clients is where I want to be.

Textile Artisan
Catherine is a talented and experienced textile artisan.
Catherine brings her remarkable craftsmanship to the team. With over 25 years experience, she adds exceptional depth to our soft furnishings and tailoring services. Her background as a long-time sewing tutor means every detail is crafted with intention.
All of our soft furnishings are produced in-house by hand, and overseen by Catherine's sharp eye and relentless attention to detail.
Catherine specialises in handcrafting couture drapery and bespoke soft furnishings that are made-to-measure and meticulously tailored to each
client’s brief. Whether you are looking for bespoke cushions or a curtain making service, we can include these services as part of our interior design packages.
We combine refined materials, thoughtful design, and expert craftsmanship to create pieces that elevate a space — from flowing curtains with the perfect fall to cushions and upholstery with just the right detail.
